Retired RCMP Sgt. Brian David Sparrow (1950-08-12), Regimental #29408, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, surrounded by his family after a courageous fight with Amyloidosis. Born in Shawville, Quebec to Elsie Atcheson and the late Grenville Sparrow. Married 39 years to his loving wife Monica (Reid) and proud father to David (Tina) of Sarsfield, ON, Wendy of Inuvik, NT, Jillian (Darren) of Iqaluit, NU and Philip (Cheryl) of Ft. St. John, BC. Loving Papa to his precious granddaughters Jinelle and Claira. Brother to Marlaine (Frank Palmer) and Evelyn (late Barry Sprigings) and many nieces and nephews. Brian retired from the RCMP in 1997 where he served with pride in Alberta, Ontario and most favorably on the Musical Ride. In retirement, Brian employed many RCMP veterans though his company: Veterans Security Service. In his spare time, Brian loved to manage the long running RCMP Horse Auction and enjoyed driving coach buses, tractor trailers and a grader for the City of Ottawa. All these jobs took a back seat to his love of farming, a passion he had throughout his life and up to his passing. Brian loved the smell of fresh cut hay and took pride in sharing his farming work ethic with the many summer students he employed and with each of his children. Brian was also an active member of Redeemer Alliance church where he served as an elder.
