O'Bomsawin, John WYANTSKILL John O'Bomsawin, 54, of Hillview Court, Wynantskill, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015, after a long battle with multiple myeloma and amyloidosis. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Andre and Patricia O'Bomsawin (Hyde) and husband of Alicia (Pasinella). Raised and educated in Troy, he was a graduate of Troy High School. John worked for Bridgestone/ Firestone for over 30 years as a store manager. He was a school board member for the Wynantskill UFSD for nine years. He unselfishly served his community as a member of the Wynantskill Fire Department for 22 years. One of his greatest achievements was when he became chief, and he proudly served in that position for seven years. He also took pride in mentoring many fellow firefighters, including his son, Jonathan. As a child, he loved his Hampton Beach vacations with his parents, and then later in life he continued that tradition with his own family. As his kids grew older, he enjoyed yearly vacations to Ocean City, Md. and several cruises with his family and close friends. In the past few years, even though ill, he so looked forward to his outings with the M.O.B. Squad. Survivors in addition to his wife, include his children, Alyssa Corie (Jim), Jonathan and Joshua. Also survived by his Aunt Jan Roberts (late Tom), Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Chuck Mattoon, Uncle Herbert and Aunt Barbara Hyde, Uncle Desmond and Aunt Joan O'Bomsawin; father-in-law, Joseph Pasinella; sisters-in-law, Jennie Julian (Mike), Angie Sunkes (Tom), JoAnne McDermott (Bob), Tina DeBonis (Michael), Carol Donnelly (late Jimmy), brother-in-law Joseph Pasinella (Lois) and many nieces and nephews. In addition, John leaves behind many dear friends. John was predeceased by his granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Corie; mother-in-law, Anne Rymanowski and several aunts and uncles. A special thanks to Albany Med's 2nd floor CCU nurses who treated John with such compassionate care. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at St. Michael's Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy, NY 12180. Burial will follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
