It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald Hunnewell announces his passing on November 18th, 2013 after a courageous battle against Amyloidosis.
Ron was the Sergeant at arms for the Simi Valley chapter of the Harley Owners Group, and loved riding out on the open road. He enjoyed being involved in his children's activities, including volunteering as a Royal Ranger's Commander, Choir and Band Chaperone, Youth Group Chaperone and Cal Poly parent council member. He was passionate about people; he helped organize multiple charity diabetes motorcycle rides, and took his vacation time to do mission's work building houses in Peru, Guatemala, Holland, and Haiti.
Ron worked for the LA Department of Water and Power for 29 years and was the volunteer CFO of the Employee's Association for multiple terms.
He is survived by his wife Cathy, children Catrina (husband Joe Morgan) and Ryan, mother Darlene Hunnewell, four siblings: Rodney, Richard, Vicki Hunnewell and Teresa Hunnewell-Sidlinger, and several nieces and nephews.
