Wilkie Schell Colyer, 65, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Atlanta, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Emory University Hospital shortly after being diagnosed with late stage, AL amyloidosis. Wilkie, born May 12, 1949, was the son of Elizabeth Schell Colyer and the late G. Clifton Colyer and grew up in Anniston, AL. He graduated from The Darlington School in Rome, GA and Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. Wilkie moved to Atlanta, GA and went to work for C&S Bank and Robinson Humphrey before cofounding The Breckenridge Group in 1987. More recently, he enjoyed serving on the Board of Directors of PGi, a SAAS company based in Atlanta, GA. Wilkie also served on the Board of Directors of Capital City Club in Atlanta, GA. He assisted in development of the Capital City Club Crabapple golf course and in hosting the American Express Championships held there in 2003. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Most importantly, he was a wonderful father to his two children and will be missed by his family and friends. He was happiest spending time with his two children listening to waves break on the beach at his home in Florida. He will be missed but not forgotten
