FRYLING, JAMES BRIAN of Byron Center, MI Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the age of 51. He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends. Jim was born on October 12, 1963. He was the son of Gordon and the late Frances Fryling. Jim graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master's Degree. After graduating, he taught at Unity Christian High School for a few years. Following this, he was employed at Herman Miller for 23 years, most recently working as a Manufacturing Engineer. Jim was passionate about his job, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, shopping at flea markets, and spending time with his family. He was also very active in church. He served as a Cadet Counselor, deacon, elder, and catechism teacher for many years, and led various committees. Jim is survived by his wife, Michelle of 25 years, daughters Janelle (Greg) Turner, and Lynette Fryling. He is survived by his older siblings, Marc, Gregory (Jill), Barb Simons, Gwen (Tom) Snoeyink, and Fred as well as sister-in-law Melissa (Doug) Komejan, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Gary and Lois Petersen, along with several nephews and nieces on both sides. Jim was well cared for by Spectrum Health Hospital staff and the University of Michigan Hospital staff for the past several weeks after suffering with multiple myeloma and amyloidosis. -
